For the first time in 16 years, Penn State is preparing to make a trip to the Steel City. They will take on Pitt at 12 p.m. this Saturday at Heinz Field.
The matchup represents the renewal of an in-state rivalry and the beginning of a two-week period that will see the Nittany Lions take on the Panthers this week before hosting Temple the following weekend when Joe Paterno will be honored by Penn State before the game on the 50th anniversary of Paterno’s first home game.
Coach James Franklin was asked for the first time about honoring Paterno before the matchup with the Owls.
